Friday night around 11:00pm I was headed home - about a twenty mile ride. I had recently seen deer out and about on my normal route home, so I decided to take another road; a bit wider, less curves.
Sure as hell, about five miles from home, a deer jumped out in front of me and I hit it.
I woke up in the hospital with a major concussion, two broken teeth, road rash (even though I was fully leathered) a broken elbow and a broken foot. Damn lucky it wasn't worse.
PLEASE everybody, take your protective gear seriously. Helmet, leathers, gloves and boots are the MINIMUM I will ride with now. Regardless of the weather, I'm wearing it all!
Be safe.

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 4:11 AMAin't that typical? It always happens when you think you're gonna be the smart one, and alter your doings - just 'cause you get that sense/ or that idea that you're about to have a bad day if you don't.
Been there, and sadly enough, have woken up when the dust was settling a few times.
Yup, Irony and I aren't strangers.
